خبررساں ادارے روئٹرز کے مطابق دنیا بھر میں کرونے وائرس کی وجہ سے ہونے والی اموات میں زیادتی کی وجہ سے روایتی اور مذہبی تدفین کے طریقوں میں بدلاؤ پیدا ہوگیا ہے، مختلف ممالک کی حکومتوں نے لوگوں کو انکے مذہبی عقیدوں کے مطابق سوگ منانے اور گروپس کی شکل میں تدفین کرنے سے روک دیا ہے۔
اسرائیل میں حکومت کی طرف سے مسلمان لاشوں کو غسل دینے اور کپڑے کے کفن کی بجائے مردے کو پلاسٹک کے تھیلے میں لپیٹ کر دفن کرنے کا حکم دیا گیا ہے۔ حکومت نے یہودیوں کی پرانی روایت شیوا، جسکے مطابق لوگ سات دن تک سوگوار رشتہ داروں کے گھر جاتے ہیں، بھی ختم کردی ہے، مسلمانوں اور یہودیوں دونوں کو انکی مذہبی روایات کے خلاف سائنسی اور میڈیکل طریقوں سے دفن کرنے کا حکم دیا گیا ہے۔
اٹلی میں کیتھولک عیسائی افراد کو کسی جنازے یا کسی پادری کی برکت والی دعا کے بغیر دفن کیا جارہا ہے۔ نیویارک شہر میں جنازے لائنوں میں دفن ہونے کیلئے لگے ہوئے ہیں، دفن کرنے والے اوور ٹائم پر کام کر رہے ہیں، کچھ واقعات میں رات کے وقت لاشیں جل رہی تھیں جبکہ دفن کرنے والے اہلکار ایک دوسرے پر چیخ رہے تھے۔
عراق میں سابق فوجی اہلکار خصوصی طور پر بنائے گئے قبرستان میں کورونا وائرس کے متاثرین کیلئے قبریں کھود رہے ہیں، انہوں نے عیسائیوں کے ساتھ ساتھ مسلمانوں کی تدفین کا طریقہ بھی سیکھ لیا ہے۔
